Types Of Binding
The Printing House have a wide range of binding techniques available suitable for short or long print runs. If you need advice on the best binding type for your project then call us on 01270 212100.
Die cutting is an incredibly versatile process used for creating a huge array of different products. From putting a simple crease in a brochure cover to creating complex blotting paper shapes for the medical industry, not to mention presentation folders.
Foil blocking is a process where we apply an area of metallic foil, usually silver or gold coloured, to paper or board. Often used for logos and text on brochures & letterheads, foil blocking is often used with embossing to really add a wow factor as it gives a 3D effect.
Lamination - Soft Touch, Matt & Gloss
We offer soft touch lamination, matt lamination or gloss lamination. Lamination is used to either protect or enhance the printed job and, used correctly, lamination can really help with how your brand is perceived.
All of our soft touch, matt and gloss laminates are recyclable. As we all know, the use of plastics is becoming less and less socially acceptable. Recyclable laminate means that you can use lamination without compromising your 'Green Credentials'.
Spot UV Varnishing - Produced In-House
Spot UV varnishing is a print finishing process that applies a shiny, UV-cured varnish to specific areas of a sheet and is often used to highlight pictures, logos or text.
The Printing House is almost unique in that we apply spot UV varnish in-house, keeping control of quality and timings to give you our best service.
Trimming / Guillotining
Perhaps the most under-rated item of equipment in our arsenal, the guillotine is used for almost every job.
Capable of cutting through hundreds of leaves of paper in one cut, the guillotine is a fundamental part of the process whether it’s trimming leaflets to size or the excess off a die cut presentation folder, if it is digitally or litho printed it will be cut on a guillotine at some point.
We have several guillotines of differing sizes so we can always use the most suitable one for each job.
LED-UV Drip-Off Varnish
Our LED-UV drip-off varnish is an amazing print finishing process that gives part of the sheet a textured crystal effect with the rest of the sheet having a high gloss UV coating.
It is capable of much finer detail than a traditional spot UV varnish as it is actually printed directly onto the paper or the laminate.
